 2. Safety and security regulations

a. Prior to assembly of this TMZ gear coupling, make sure you have carefully read and referred to this instruction. 

b. Before placing into operation, the coupling must be covered with stationary protective devices.

c. Suitable ambient temperature for TMZ gear couplings is -30ºC -+120ºC.

d. Concentricity tolerance for two shafts must be reduced to the least and not exceed the values listed in Table 4 of this instruction,so that couplings may enjoy longer service life.

e. The self-locking nut must be replaced as the coupling disassembled at teach time.

f. In outdoor application of these couplings, direct sunshine, moisture or rain shall be avoided and any other foreign matter which may affect operation or service life of coupling should be prevented entering into them.

 

 

3.The status of delivery

 

a. TMZ gear couplings supplied by TECMEN are in the form of parts unconnected, with bores of shafts already produced, as their user's requirement. 

b. Taking into consideration of torque capable of sustaining, smaller or bigger diameter for various bores is inappropriate.

 5.Assembly 

a. To avoid damaging the couplings, their packing wooden case must be removed at the site where assembly is going to be done. Please check whether all parts are complete and whether any of them is damaged or not. Ensure all parts are clean.

b. In case of transition fit or clearance fit, a locating surface on the shaft in axial direction is needed. The hub is fixed by set-screws. 

c. In case of interference fit, heating the hub up to the appropriate temperature before mounting. For easy assembly, the uniform warming of the hubs as per table 3 is safe. Mounting the hub on the shaft until it is closely pressed against the shaft shoulder. To place a suitable gasket to shaft shoulders closely, if shaft ends are longer than hubs. Temperature for mounting hubs refers Table 3.

 6.Adjusting of coupling

Adjusting of coupling plays a quite important role for the service life and smooth operation of the whole combined system. In adjusting, axial, radial and angular displacements must be less than the values in the Table 4 so as to take full advantage of correction capability of couplings in operation. Exact alignment of the coupling increases the service life of it. In the operation of adjustment, rule, vernier, and feeler gauge may be applied to check displacement in axial, radial and angular direction.

Table 4 shows the values for mid-speed operation, the displacement in high-speed operation should therefore not exceed 20%of the values.(The data in the table is the limit value of each displacement, only under the poorest installation condition can be considered.The value of each displacement should be controlled within 0.1mm in normal installation. If the installation condition is superior, it can further control the displacement within 0.05mm.)
